Job Summary: The Childcare Teacher is a compassionate and dedicated educator responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for children in the childcare center. They will plan and implement age-appropriate activities, foster social and emotional development, and create a positive and engaging learning experience for children in their care.
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Planning and Implementation:
- Develop and implement lesson plans based on the center’s curriculum and age-appropriate learning objectives.
- Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that promotes exploration, creativity, and curiosity.
Child Development and Individualization:
- Observe and assess children’s progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
- Tailor teaching methods and activities to meet the individual needs and interests of each child.
Safety and Well-Being:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom at all times.
- Adhere to health and safety policies and maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
Parent Communication:
- Foster open and regular communication with parents/guardians, sharing updates on children’s progress and activities.
- Conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss children’s development and growth.
Social and Emotional Support:
- Encourage positive interactions and social skills among children, promoting a caring and respectful classroom community.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to children during times of transition and emotional needs.
Play and Exploration:
- Facilitate engaging and developmentally appropriate play and exploration activities.
- Encourage children’s natural curiosity and creativity.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive and nurturing learning environment.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field or an Associate’s degree may be considered with relevant experience is a plus
- Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate teaching methods is a plus.
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with children.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Other tasks as required.
- Must be willing to work towards an early childhood certification.
