Job Summary: The Childcare Floater is a flexible and adaptable team member who provides support in various classrooms as needed. They will assist teachers in multiple age groups and programs, ensuring continuity in care and education. The Floater plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and engaging environment for children while offering support to the teaching team.
Responsibilities:
Assist in Classroom Activities:
- Support teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities and curriculum for children in different classrooms.
- Help with playtime, circle time, arts and crafts, and other educational activities.
Supervision and Safety:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children in all assigned classrooms.
- Monitor children during outdoor play and field trips.
Assessment and Observation:
- Assist in observing and assessing children’s behavior, progress, and developmental milestones.
- Report any concerns or observations to the Teacher or Director
Flexibility and Adaptability:
- Be prepared to work in various classrooms and age groups as required.
- Adapt to different classroom routines and procedures.
Team Support:
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to maintain a positive and cohesive learning environment.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized classroom.
Assist with Parent Communication:
- Support teachers in communicating with parents/guardians about their child’s daily activities and progress.
- Maintain a professional and helpful demeanor when interacting with parents/guardians.
Child Guidance:
- Encourage positive interactions and social skills among children.
- Support conflict resolution and appropriate behavior modeling.
- Other tasks as required.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare setting is preferred.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in different classrooms and age groups.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Passion for working with children and providing a nurturing environment.
